Animals as Leaders-Animals as Leaders

Wow!
What an amazing album this truly is. Tosin Abasi really has set the bar high on heavy, yet melodic, instrumental music when he made this album. All 12 tracks are just spectacular. The CD is so much more than just another 60 minute shred session, every chord and arpeggio is placed specifically for a reason. From the first track, Tempting Time, Abasi grabs your attention with a heavy, off-time, djent rhythm, and quickly begins to take you into the album, with the first solo being (in my opinion) one of the best on the entire record. Words genuinely cannot describe how beautiful this entire work is, and Abasi works his 8-string like nobody's business.
I cannot wait to see what he comes out with next.

  1. I was fully getting ready to hate this, just like I hated the earlier barrage of stuff before this review.

It's a little heavy metal for me, but I really, really, really like it. I am listening to 'Tempting Time' right now. Good song. Have you guys thought about posting links to YouTube of songs you like the most from their albums? I like the myspace link. More links! We are laaaaazy.

I AM REALLY LIKING THIS SONG. I like it so much, I am bookmarking it.

  2. Dear Hannah, that's because he's AMAZING. I realize it's a bit on the heavier side, but he literally does everything with his guitar and a drum program. It's really quite incredible.
